1660.085 HIPAA Privacy: Sanctions Policy and Procedure
To ensure that FIU Workforce members understand the critical significance of complying with FIU’s HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules Policies and Procedures and applicable federal and state laws and regulations, and to provide notice to FIU Workforce members that violations of FIU’s HIPAA Privacy and/or Security Rule policies and procedures and/or applicable federal and state laws and regulations may result in administrative and/or disciplinary action taken against Workforce members who do not comply which may include, without limitation, termination of employment. Additionally, this policy and procedure explains the appropriate administrative and/or disciplinary action to be taken against FIU Workforce members who do not comply with the aforementioned rules, laws, regulations, policies and/or procedures.
